The Ramirez Wedding
Every photographer remembers their first wedding all the nerves, the pressure, the joy, and that moment when everything just clicks. For me, that wedding was extra special, because it wasn’t just any couple. This couple happened to be my Tia and Tio. When my Tia asked me to capture her wedding, I was honestly shocked. Even now, I still get surprised when people choose me to document their most important moments. Maybe that’s the little bit of self-doubt that sneaks in sometimes (lol), but this day reminded me exactly why I do what I do.
This was my very first official wedding
There was no reception, no big venue, just a small, intimate church ceremony surrounded by love and family. And honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect.
I remember wanting everything to go right. Not just because it was my first wedding, but because it was her. My Tia isn’t just family... she’s someone I deeply admire, and I wanted her to love her photos more than anything. I wanted to make her proud, both as her niece and as her photographer.
From the moment they stood together at the altar, their connection was so genuine. The way my Tio looked at her said everything... calm, steady, full of love. They posed so beautifully together, but what made it even more special was how natural it all felt. I didn’t have to over-direct or force anything; their love just showed through every frame.
After the ceremony, we took portraits outside the church, then a few sweet shots at their home where they shared cake and laughter. There wasn’t a big party or dance floor — just family, simplicity, and love. It reminded me that weddings aren’t about how big the event is; it’s about the emotion you capture. This day taught me that photography is so much more than just taking pictures it’s about preserving the feeling behind them. And for me, this wedding was proof that even the smallest celebrations can hold the biggest meaning.
The Newly Weds
The light that day was soft and dreamy and exactly what my Tia had hoped for. She wanted something light and airy, which is one of my favorite styles to capture. I paid close attention to the colors, the way the church windows glowed, and the softness of the natural light around them.
I remember feeling proud of how calm I stayed. I focused on keeping everything natural, letting them move together and share those quiet, loving moments that made the day feel like them. When I got home and looked through the gallery, I couldn’t help but smile not just because the photos turned out beautiful, but because I knew I had captured her vision.
